Those are road flares, and attached are the guts of a 7$ clock radio from wal-mart. The speaker was salvaged from an original Macintosh.

That base says 'Sony' on it and it came from these old vintage usb gadgets you would use while you listened to the radio, pressing the button when you enjoyed a song so much you wanted to plug this thing into your computer to find out what it was, bizarre, did not last.
